Good to know

• The Kin-no-Yu onsen experience is optional, and Kin-no-Yu is tattoo-friendly.
• Japanese public baths are gender-separated and require full nudity; swimwear and underwear are not permitted.
• Wash thoroughly before entering the bath. A small towel may be used for modesty while moving around but must not enter the hot spring water; clothing and larger towels remain in the changing area.
• Bring a towel, comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing and cash for lunch and personal purchases.
